All 3 supplements have strong antioxidant properties, which help to protect cells and guard against disease. They work synergistically - Trans Resveratrol and Matcha Green Tea increase the bioavailability of Quercetin, making this trio of supplements even more effective.
Quercetin & Bromelain
Quercetin belongs to a group of plant pigments called flavonoids that give many fruits, flowers, and vegetables their colours. It is richly present in a variety of foods including apples, black tea, berries, capers, red wine, and onions.
They have been linked to several health benefits and have potent antioxidant properties. Antioxidants are compounds that can bind to and neutralise free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that may cause cellular damage when levels become too high.
Bromelain is a protein-digesting enzyme mixture derived from the stem, fruit, and juice of the pineapple plant. It has a centuries-long history of being used to treat medical ailments, primarily throughout Central and South America.
A clinically effective dose of bromelain enhances quercetin absorption, and it magnifies the efficacy of quercetin. Bromelain is also a highly effective anti-inflammatory in its own right.
Trans-Resveratrol
Resveratrol belongs to a class of organic chemicals known as polyphenols and can be found in foods including the skin of grapes, blueberries and raspberries. It is also primarily isolated from Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum).
These polyphenols act as antioxidants in the body, helping to eliminate free radicals and fight oxidative stress.
Resveratrol helps to protect grapes from the damaging effects of bacteria and fungi that would otherwise spoil the plant. It is also the main reason why so many people are advocating drinking more red wine and grape juice, thanks to several studies documenting resveratrol’s numerous benefits for heart health.
Japanese Knotweed contains high concentrations of trans-resveratrol, the active form of the compound most useful to the body, and is therefore quickly becoming the preferred source of the compound.
Matcha Green Tea
Matcha green tea has a much higher content of the antioxidant EGCG than other types of green tea, making it valuable for protecting cells and guarding against disease.
Unlike other types of green tea, it is made from the whole leaf. As a result, it contains a far higher concentration of antioxidants than many types of fruit.
Because of its antioxidant content, matcha green tea has possible benefits including:
- helping to maintain a healthy weight
- boosting the metabolism
- helping to reduce levels of cholesterol.
- There is also evidence from clinical studies that the amino acid theanine in this type of tea may help to ease emotional stress. This makes it beneficial for the mind as well as the body.
Matcha green tea is an acquired taste, so many people prefer to take it as a food supplement and get all the health benefits without the taste!
